Coin Strike
Coin Strike is one of those games that explains itself in about three seconds and then keeps you hooked for weeks. You flick metal tokens across a wooden board, trying to land them in scoring zones or knock other pieces out of the way. The physics feel weighty and satisfying, and every flick has a little bit of English to it if you drag your finger just right.
Control is entirely one-thumbed, which makes it perfect for a bus ride. You pull back, aim, and release — the longer the drag, the harder the strike. What surprised me was how much skill ceiling hides under that simplicity. Early boards are forgiving, but later layouts force you to think about angles and ricochets like a tiny pool table.
My only gripe is that the later stages lean a bit hard on trial and error, and a couple of boards felt tuned for luck more than precision. Even so, the loop of lining up one more perfect shot kept pulling me back. It's a clean, generous little arcade game that respects your time.
